The Bottom Dwellers challenge was introduced in July 2014.
This was the final Pond Challenge introduced into Fairyland… your task is to attract the wildlife
which lives at the bottom of the Garden Pond – the so-called “Bottom Dwellers”!
As you would expect with this combining the final challenge in the series, it is a pretty challenging one, so
you may wish to successfully complete the previous Pond Challenges before attempting it.
This was the final Pond Challenge introduced into Fairyland… your task is to attract the wildlife
which lives at the bottom of the Garden Pond – the so-called “Bottom Dwellers”!
As you would expect with this combining the final challenge in the series, it is a pretty challenging one, so
you may wish to successfully complete the previous Pond Challenges before attempting it.
As you’ll discover, part of the fun of undertaking this adventure is combining multiple
challenges at the same time, which means that your planning/organisation
skills will be very important!

Where to begin …
Before getting underway, as always it is good to prepare ahead so that everything goes smoothly. The more you plan, the easier the task.
Preparing for these Challenges
1. Read the Frog Breeding Guide before you get started to make sure you know what is ahead of you.
2. Make sure you have finished all the spotting requirements for both the Rainbow of Fish and Bottom Dwellers challenges you wish to attract.

Important things to note:
1. Make sure you have unlocked all your mushrooms up to and including the Pink Cap Mushroom.
2. You will need to attract a different Pond Mythological first in order to plant the Pondweed for each of
the ‘Rainbow of Fish’ and after that attract the different coloured Guppies needed to colour our Corals,
so you will need to grow the relevant mushroom to RFH before going underwater.
3. Make sure you have unlocked all your Forest Jewel Plants, as these are needed to help deter guppies
which will increase the number of Rainbow Fish you attract.
4. Make sure the first of each Pondweed is ready for harvest (RFH) before removing from your garden,
you will NOT be able to move on if you remove it too soon.
5. Make sure the first of each Coral is ready for harvest (RFH) before removing from your garden,
you will NOT be able to move on if you remove it too soon.
6. If you have started frog breeding make sure you use a fully grown (FG) Dulcia somniflora when using
Wild Berries to deter Underwater Frogs (high tables) and Froglets (low tables) if not wanted or needed.

7. Make sure you attract at least 10 of each of the Rainbow of Fish and at least 10 of each of the Bottom
Dwellers in order to move to the next one.
8. Make sure you have spotted at least 5 Tadpoles, Froglets and Frogs before you finish attracting the
Red Snapper.
9. Keep an eye on the underwater toadstool to make sure you have enough time left on it, if it
becomes RFH your garden will return to dry land.

Before you start …
Read the points above and above all make sure that you are prepared before you start. One of the most important things you need to do is spot enough Tadpoles, Froglets and UW Adult Frogs to attract your first (or 5th etc) Land Frog for Frogspawn. If you’ve already start frog breeding, make sure you’ve attracted enough Tadpoles so that you can get Frogspawn for your Bottom Dwellers.
Let’s get started …
We begin as if we are setting up for the Rainbow of Fish
Red Snapper and Lobster
Step 1
Plant the Agaric Mushroom and grow to RFH, or plant the mushroom in your Rainbow Rocks.
Step 2
Plant your underwater toadstool, then wait for the Mermaid to be spotted and magically transport your garden to the bottom of the garden pond for the remaining time, until the toadstool becomes RFH!
Step 3
Put out Veggies on any feeding tables and attract the Watery Seadragon. (further instructions to complete this step can be found in the Pond Mythological Guide).
NOTE: Watery Seadragon also eats Wild Berries and Tropical Fruits.

Step 4
Purchase two Red Rocks from the Ye Olde Fairyland Pot Shoppe and place them in your garden ready for the 10th and 20th Watery Seadragon to plant your Red Pondweed.

Step 5
Once the Red Pondweed has been planted by the 5th and 10th Watery Seadragon, harvest the
Agaric Mushroom.

Step 6
It’s time to dust up the Red Pondweed. You can choose to clear the Veggies ready to put out Wild Berries or put out another plate and attract Mermaids with the rest of the feeds. Red Snapper don’t eat Veggies.

Step 7
You have the option of removing the Red Pondweed from one of the Red Rocks in preparation for the planting the Red Coral, or you can chose to dust it up and remove it later when you need it to plant your coral. One Red Pondweed is sufficient to attract the Red Snapper, especially with a good garden setup. You’ll note that the Rocks become grey when used and these are the only pots you can plant coral in.

Step 8
Put out Wild Berries on the feeding tables of your choice ready to attract the 10 Red Snapper needed.
|
|

Step 9
Plant a Supershroom (which helps deter Mermaids) and at least one Forest Ruby Jewel (to deter Red Guppies) in order to achieve the best outcome. Please note that other FG mushrooms do not help deter mermaids, they only waste space and resources if used underwater at this stage of the challenge.
|

|

|
Step 10
Once you have attracted 10 Red Snapper, it’s time to move on to the first Bottom Dweller, the Lobster, but first we need to do some frog breeding so we have the frogspawn for the Lobsters to eat. To do this we need to either let the mermaid go RFH or simply removed it, this will take us to dry land and attract the necessary land frogs for our FIRST plate of spawn.
NOTE: If you have already begun frog breeding you MAY not need to go to dry land, you can simply put out the high plates of Wild Berries and wait for your UW Adult Frogs to arrive and lay Frogspawn.

Step 11 – if you are starting frog breeding for the first time.
When the Mermaid is RFH, harvest it as usual, now that the garden has returned to dry land we are ready to attract Land Frogs. Do not remove the Pondweed, you need to leave it to become RFH in order to move on to the next stage which will be to buy the Orange Rocks Pot.
Step 12
Put out Wild berries on a high plate, the Land Frog only feeds from the high plate, the UW Frog also only feeds from the high plate.

Step 13
Once the Land Frog has laid the Frogspawn, you need to plant a new underwater toadstool, then wait for the Mermaid to be spotted and magically transport your garden to the bottom of the garden pond again for the remaining time, until the toadstool becomes RFH!

Step 14
Retrieve the Grey Rocks from your storage shelves and place in your garden.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Step 15
Plant the Red Coral in the Grey Rocks and for quicker results remove the Ruby Jewel plant (or place in your Greenhouse if you have one ready to use again after you’ve coloured the coral) which has been deterring some Red Guppies from your garden. While you are waiting to attract the Red Guppy you will start attracting Tadpoles which hatch from the Frogspawn. You can never attract too many Tadpoles.

Step 16
Once you’ve attracted the Red Guppy to colour your Red Coral you are ready for your first Lobster. At this stage you can choose to plant a Dulcia Somniflora to deter the Tadpoles, leaving the Frogspawn for the 10 Lobsters you need to attract to finish the red part of the challenge. Once you attract 10, you can remove the Dulcia Somniflora and allow more Tadpoles to hatch from the spawn (if you have more feeds). In the meantime, you can continue to attract the Red Snapper by continuing to leave out Wild Berries.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is a very good idea to make sure you attract at least one Tadpole to your garden at this stage, so that you can start your Frog breeding underwater. This will make it easier for the next bottom dweller.

Step 17
Now that you’ve attracted all the Red Snapper and Lobster you need, you must make sure that your Red Pondweed and Red Coral are left till they are RFH and you can harvest them ready for your next Rainbow Fish and Bottom Dweller. At this stage you can either return to dry land to prepare for the next stage or you can attract your first Froglet and UW Frog to start the breeding process and get ahead for the rest of the Bottom Dwellers. It’s advisable to make sure you have are setup ready so you can easily move on to each stage of the Bottom Dwellers. Visit the Frog Breeding Guide for more information.
Important Note:
This is the perfect time to make sure you have enough Tadpoles to continue through the Bottom Dwellers without any delays or problems. The more Tadpoles you breed now the easier it will be later. Ideally, so you don’t accidentally attract too many UW Adult Frogs, it’s wise not to attract too many Froglets ahead of time. Every 5th UW Adult Frog will lay Frogspawn, so only attracting the first 4 Froglets initially would be best. When it comes to each Bottom Dweller, it will mean you only need to attract 1 Froglet and the UW Adults Frogs needed to get the Frogspawn.
Clown Fish and Octopus
Step 1
Plant the Gathering Elves Mushroom and grow to RFH, or plant the mushroom in your Rainbow Rocks.
Step 2
Plant your underwater toadstool, then wait for the Mermaid to be spotted and magically transport your garden to the bottom of the garden pond for the remaining time, until the toadstool becomes RFH!
Step 3
Put out Veggies on any feeding tables and attract the Rainbow Seadragon.
NOTE: Rainbow Seadragon also eats Wild Berries and Tropical Fruits.

Purchase the Orange Rocks and place them in your garden ready for the 5th Rainbow Seadragon to plant your Orange Pondweed.

Gathering Elves Mushroom.

Once you have attracted 10 Clownfish, it’s time to move on to the next Bottom Dweller, the Octopus, but first we need to colour our Orange Coral and then do some frog breeding so we have the frogspawn for the Octopi to eat.

Remove the Amber Jewel plant, place your grey rocks in your garden and plant the Orange Coral. You will now need to attract an Orange Guppy to colour the Coral.

Once you’ve coloured your Orange Coral, you’re ready to attract your UW Adult Frogs for Frogspawn. To start remove your Dulcia Somniflora.

Yellow Boxfish and Catfish
Step 1
Plant the Golden Deceiver Mushroom and grow to RFH, or plant the mushroom in your Rainbow Rocks.
Step 2
Plant your underwater toadstool, then wait for the Mermaid to be spotted and magically transport your garden to the bottom of the garden pond for the remaining time, until the toadstool becomes RFH!
Step 3
Put out Veggies on any feeding tables and attract the Golden Seadragon.
NOTE: Golden Seadragon also eats Wild Berries and Tropical Fruits.

Purchase the Yellow Rocks and place them in your garden ready for the Golden Seadragon to plant your Yellow Pondweed.

Once the Yellow Pondweed has been planted by the 5th Golden Seadragon, harvest the
Golden Deceiver Mushroom.

Dust up the Pondweed to FG.

Put out Wild Berries on any feeding tables and attract the 10 Yellow Boxfish needed.

Plant a Supershroom and the Ruby, Amber and Sunshine Jewel plants to achieve the best outcome. At this stage it’s important to include a Dulcia Somniflora when using berries now that you’ve started the underwater breeding cycle for the Frogs. This plant till deter Tadpoles, Froglets and UW (and Land) Adult Frogs.

Step 9
Once you have attracted 10 Yellow Boxfish, it’s time to move on to the next Bottom Dweller, the Catfish, but first we need to colour our Yellow Coral and then do some frog breeding so we have the frogspawn for the Catfish to eat.

Remove the Sunshine Jewel plant, place another of your grey rocks in your garden and plant the Yellow Coral. you will now need to attract a Yellow Guppy to colour the Yellow Coral.

Remove the Amber Jewel plant, place your grey rocks in your garden and plant the Orange Coral. You will now need to attract an Orange Guppy to colour the Orange Coral.

Once you’ve coloured your Orange and Yellow Coral, you’re ready to attract your UW Adult Frogs for Frogspawn. To start, remove your Dulcia Somniflora so it’s not deterring the wildlife in the Frog breeding cycle.

Put out Wild Berries on a low plate to start, we need to attract Froglets so that we can then attract the UW Adult Frog. Put out Seed Mix on any feeding tables and attract the Griffish.
